The look on the face of a child receiving a bike is wondrous, but the excitement you see in the eyes of students raising money for those kids will touch your heart.
Bikes for Angels is a fundraiser set up to purchase angel tree bikes for needy children during the Christmas season in the Johnson County area. In the past 9 years, Bikes for Angels has raised funds to buy over 3,850 bicycles. Bikes for Angels is now a registered 501C3 non-profit organization. The program was originally founded in 2007. Founder Rick Curlee retired from teaching in 2014 due to health issues but his wife, Dee and daughters, Crystal and Amy are picking up the reins and have joined forces with the Joshua ISD and Chamber of Commerce and many other organizations to provide bicycles for needy children.
